President Trump today gave his seal of approval to the work of Alveda King, Director of Civil Rights for the Unborn for Priests for Life.
Ms. King, a niece of Martin Luther King Jr., was invited to join the president as he toured the National Museum of African American History in Washington, D.C.
Standing beside him while he addressed the media, President Trump said to Ms. King: “I want to profoundly thank Alveda King. She is a tremendous fighter for justice. You are so incredible. And I want to thank you for all the nice things you say about me.”
Ms. King said she was “honored and humbled” to be singled out for praise by the president.
“Under President Trump, our nation is going to make great strides toward protecting the unborn. Priests for Life is in the vanguard of the fight for life and having the president with us, rather than against us, will make all the difference.
Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, invited Ms. King to be part of the Priests for Life team 14 years ago when they found themselves together at the March for Life in D.C.
“We both agreed that the fight to abolish abortion is the civil rights movement of the 21st century,” Father Pavone said.
Priests for Life is the nation's largest Catholic pro-life organization dedicated to ending abortion and euthanasia. For more information, visit www.priestsforlife.org.
