The Midterm Elections Have Already Begun
Dear Friends,
Recently, during the three-day meeting of national pro-life leaders held at Priests for Life headquarters, we discussed Project 60 for 2026.
It thinks big. It aims high. It means something that most experts will say is out of reach.
But we’re putting it forward anyway.
We need 60 reliable votes in the US Senate to advance pro-life legislation (and any conservative legislation, for that matter). That’s because of the filibuster, which does serve an important purpose (requiring greater national consensus and increasing national stability on divisive issues) and does save us from some pretty disastrous legislation.
One-third of the Senate is elected every two years. In the 2026 midterms, which conclude on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, we see the following snapshot shared by Ballotpedia.org:
Of the 33 states holding regularly scheduled elections in 2026, President Donald Trump (R) won 21 of those states in the 2024 presidential election, and Kamala Harris (D) won 12. In 2026, Democrats will be defending two states that Trump won in 2024: Georgia and Michigan. Republicans will be defending one seat in a state Harris won: Maine.
The last time the 20 Republican-held seats were up for election in 2020, four were decided by a margin of less than 10 percentage points: Iowa (6.6), Maine (8.6), North Carolina (1.8), and Texas (9.6). The last time the 13 Democratic-held seats were up for election in 2020, five were decided by a margin of less than 10 percentage points: Colorado (9.3), Georgia (1.2), Michigan (1.7), Minnesota (5.3), and New Mexico (6.1).
The full list of states electing a US Senator this time around is:
Alabama • Alaska • Arkansas • Colorado • Delaware • Georgia • Idaho • Illinois • Iowa • Kansas • Kentucky • Louisiana • Maine • Massachusetts • Michigan • Minnesota • Mississippi • Montana • Nebraska • New Hampshire • New Jersey • New Mexico • North Carolina • Oklahoma • Oregon • Rhode Island • South Carolina • South Dakota • Tennessee • Texas • Virginia • West Virginia • Wyoming
We will be pulling out all the stops – broadcasting, advertising, traveling to key states, activating churches, bringing leaders together, communicating with candidates, registering voters, training election volunteers, distributing literature, and much more.
We have a c-4 organization we have launched, Prolife Vote, and we look forward to your support and active involvement. You can join our election training calls and get much information at www.ProLifeVote.com.
We have to increase our margin in the House of Representatives as well. Otherwise, a Democrat-controlled House would prevent further implementation of the Trump agenda we all voted for in November, and instead would waste America’s time and resources on fake investigations, impeachment efforts, and radical policies disconnected from all but a small minority of Americans.
We will also guide and activate voters for elections of Governors, state legislatures, and local offices.
Now we begin. Please let us know you are ready to engage in this process by signing up over at ProLifeVote.com (see the blue box about Election Volunteers!) and we will talk soon!
Sincerely,
Pro-Life Leader
