Marie Smith, as a representative of PFL to the United Nations, attended a meeting on March 8 at the US State Department and participated in a discussion on next week’s United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW). The meeting provided a dialogue between US State Department officials and NGOs during which Mrs. Smith highlighted the problem of sex selection abortion as an act of violence and discrimination. She explained that if CSW truly seeks to “end all forms of discrimination against all women and girls everywhere and eliminate all forms of violence against all women and girls in the public and private spheres”, then efforts should begin with the earliest form of violence and discrimination—sex selection abortion that identifies and destroys unborn baby girls because they are not baby boys.

The most frequently asked question in the correspondence department this past month has been in regards to separation of church and state. People wonder how we can send out mailings asking people to get politically involved, e.g., supporting pro life Gorsuch.
The second most raised concern has been the rise in incidence of dioceses calling parishes to raise awareness on immigration as the top human rights concern of our generation. Our supporters wonder –isn’t abortion the human rights crisis of our lifetime?

The latest PNCI newsletter describes how this special moment in history enjoys public support and opposition to the elitist position that supports US law allowing on-demand destruction of unborn children for all nine months of pregnancy. It includes details on pro-life actions taken by President Trump, Congress and in states.
PNCI is also privately explaining to contacts in developing countries how President Trump’s Executive Order reissuing and expanding the Mexico City Policy impacts the global abortion industry and the actions of NGOs pressuring countries to legalize abortion.
