Here we give you a snapshot of some of what the Priests for Life family of ministries is doing in these days. We thank you for your support and invite you to get to know us better!!
This week we are again at the United Nations for the first of the new year’s three major annual conferences, the Commissions on Social Development (February), the Status of Women (March), and Population Development (April). As Priests for Life is a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations, we participate in all these critically important meetings and aggressively promote international policies protecting the dignity of human life at all stages, but most especially the unborn. This year’s priority theme is “Strategies for eradicating poverty to achieve sustainable development for all”. Please see our current statement published by the UN in English, French, and Spanish.
In February, Rachel’s Vineyard Ministries has thus far:
Sent out our monthly newsletter to over 19,000 people, in this month’s edition we featured an article from Theresa Burke regarding the JAMA study.
Theresa Burke is currently in London, February 2-14, 2017, meeting and holding trainings with our many retreat sites in England. We currently have 4 retreat sites in England, Kent, Stroud, Leeds, and Essex, with another 5 in the closest surrounding countries.
This month we were visited by a Sister from Nigeria. Sr. Mary Rosanna Emenusiobi IHM, a nun of the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Mother of Christ, Nigeria. She is the Assistant Co-coordinator of FAMILY LIGHT OF THE NATION FOUNDATION – a pro-life and pro-family non-profit making Organization initiated and run by the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Mother of Christ. Their Foundation is established with the objectives of promoting human life, and marriage and family values. It does these through formation on proper understanding of human sexuality, chastity/abstinence and respect for human life education, crisis pregnancy counseling, post-abortion healing seminars and retreats, pre-marriage courses, marriage encounter seminars and retreats, natural family planning, drug and alcohol abuse awareness, among others.
While she was here we helped to attend the March for Life as well as helped her acquire dozens of books from a local Catholic organization in order for her to establish a Catholic library in Nigeria.
Sr. Mary Rosanna is also visiting the Priests for Life Staten Island office and meeting with all of the team members.
Civil Rights for the Unborn (CRU) is working on the ongoing mission of informing, educating and activating people to defund Planned Parenthood.

These last few months, Leah Remini had a docu-series on Scientology and its abuses including an episode which focused on the church’s forced abortion practices for some members. Victoria Gisondi, Correspondence Associate, wrote up a blog post which got more than 4.3K views on Fr. Frank’s blog and even got me some hate mail from a Scientology watchdog page. The article was well received by ex-SCN community and reposted on twitter pages. Father Frank did a video, too, which was noticed by Leah Remini.
Since then, Patti Smith of SNMA in Los Angeles (who also took a big interest in SCN scandal) and Victoria have been building a rapport with some ex Scientology leaders and were able to get Claire Headley, who was on Leah Remini’s episode, as well as Karen DeLaCarrier to come on to our Gospel of Life Radio show that aired on February 7. See the Priests for Life media schedule for re-airing information.

Parliamentary Network for Critical Issues (PNCI) is sharing the good news about the pro-life turning point that is underway in the US with its international network. The latest PNCI newsletter describes how this special moment in history enjoys public support and opposition to the elitist position that supports US law allowing on-demand destruction of unborn children for all nine months of pregnancy. It includes details on pro-life actions taken by President Trump, Congress and in states.
PNCI is also privately explaining to contacts in developing countries how President Trump’s Executive Order reissuing and expanding the Mexico City Policy impacts the global abortion industry and the actions of NGOs pressuring countries to legalize abortion.
In the arena of media, Fr. Frank will speak on Teresa Tomeo's Catholic Connection with Teresa Tomeo on Friday, February 10 at 8:15. Our radio show, "The Gospel of Life" on Radio Maria airs every Tuesday night at 6pm ET. Meanwhile, our Defending Life and Catholic View for Women programs air each week on EWTN and we continue to promote them vigorously.
Fr. Frank continues to broadcast his daily Facebook live videos and has been calling for action to support the new President's Cabinet Appointments as they undergo their Senate confirmation hearings.
