WISCONSIN

Wisconsin will elect a U.S. Senator in 2012.

State and Presidential Primary registration deadline – postmarked by March 14, 2012; in person by March 30, 2012; or at the polls on Primary Day.

General Election registration deadline – postmarked by October 17, 2012; in person by November 2, 2012; or at the polls on Election Day

Early voting

In person – Any voter may vote early in person, no excuse required. A voter may vote early in person at his Municipal Clerk’s office when absentee ballots become available, usually around three weeks before an election. Early in-person voting ends at 5:00 PM on the Friday before an election.

Early in-person voting – October 22 to November 2

Early in-person voting begins Monday, October 22 at the Municipal Clerk’s Office in a voter’s town or city. To find the location of their Municipal Clerk’s Office or to contact it for voting dates and times, a complete list of all 1,851 Municipal Clerk’s Offices is available at http://gab.wi.gov/sites/default/files/page/municipal_clerks_updated_10_12_2012_pdf_20175.PDF; clerks are listed by county, with counties in alphabetical order.

By mail – Any person may vote early by mail, no excuse required. Mailed applications for absentee/vote-by-mail ballots must be received by the Thursday before an election. All completed ballots must be received by Election Day.
