Kansas will elect a Governor in 2018.

Primary Election voter registration deadline – July 17, 2018
Primary Election date – August 7, 2018

General Election voter registration deadline – October 16, 2018
General Election date – November 6, 2018

Early voting – 

In person –

Any voter may vote early in person, no excuse necessary.  Early
in-person voting periods vary by county, with some counties starting early voting on July 18, 2018 for the Primary Election, others no later than July 31.  Early voting for the Primary ends on August 6.

Dates for early in-person voting for the General Election vary by county as well.  They may begin as early as October 17, 2018 or as late as October 30.  Early voting for the General Election ends on November 5.

Voters may check with their County Election Officers ( for exact dates.

By mail –

Any voter may vote early by mail, no excuse necessary.  Applications
for absentee/vote-by-mail ballots must be received by August 3, 2018 for 
the Primary; November 2, 2018 for the General Election.

Absentee ballots must be returned to the County Election Officer by Election Day.
