Early voting –

In person – Any voter may vote early in person, no excuse needed. Early in-person voting dates are as follows –

Congressional/Senate Primary – October 21 to October 28, 2014

Congressional/Senate General Runoff – November 22 to November 29, 2014

By mail – A voter may vote early by mail if he has a valid excuse. The most common valid excuses include: being 65 or over; being in the military or the spouse or dependent of someone in the military; expecting to be away from the voter’s parish of registration during the early voting period and election day; expecting to be hospitalized or restricted to bed by a physician during the early voting period and election day; or being disabled.

Application requests for absentee/vote-by-mail ballots may be made between the following dates –

Congressional/Senate Primary – October 31, 2014

Congressional/Senate General Runoff – December 2, 2014

Voted absentee ballots must be received by the Registrar no later than the day before the election.
