Washington, DC - MoveOn.org has issued an ad offensive to Catholics and to all who understand the nature of our Republic and its dependence on God. Fr. Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life, said today, "This ad dispels any doubt about whether religion is at the center of the filibuster debate. Many of those who don’t want a vote on the President's nominees simply don't want God in public life."

"It is not only religion that they fail to respect," Fr. Pavone added, "but also democracy. Our Founding Fathers held this strong conviction: if you separate God and religion from government, then government will fail. That does not mean we establish a state religion. It simply means that in our laws and government decisions, we recognize that we are not the ones who decide what's right or wrong; God does. We need judges who understand the difference."
