Worldwide Day of the Gospel of Life – June 15-16, 2013
An Official Event of the Church’s Year of Faith
The Church is currently observing the "Year of
Faith." As an official part of that observance, the
Church has designated a Day of Life being observed
June 15 and Sunday, June 16, including a Mass
celebrated by Pope Francis.
This event is a sign, of course, of the integral
connection between being a believer and being
pro-life. Our stance in favor of life does not flow
primarily from an ideology or a political platform,
but rather from the same act of faith by which we
embrace Jesus Christ, the Resurrection and the Life.
We therefore urge parishes, families, and individual
believers to join with this observance by saying the
prayer above and using the resources below. Let this
be a moment when we all rededicate ourselves to the
Gospel of Life!

pulpit and/or website announcement for this
weekend:
Join with the Church’s “Day of Life”
As an official event of the Church’s
worldwide observance of the Year of
Faith, the weekend of June 15-16 has
been designated as a celebration in honor of
“The Gospel of Life.” Special events will be
held in Rome by Pope Francis, and the
parishes, families, and individual members
of the Church are encouraged to pray along
with him that human life may be respected
and protected everywhere. See the special
prayer at PrayerCampaign.org.

Last year, at the same time that these events were
first announced, Priests for Life announced that we
had arranged a pilgrimage to help people take part
in them. The events include educational seminars on
Saturday, June 15, Eucharistic Adoration and
Confessions, a Candlelight Procession in Rome on
Saturday night, and a Mass in Saint Peter's Square
on Sunday morning, June 16 at 10:30am celebrated by
Pope Francis.
Below you will see photos and information from this
pilgrimage. Enjoy!
