TITUSVILLE, FL – Priests for Life and the National Pro-Life Religious Council (NPRC) have joined with the National Institute of Family and Life Advocates (NIFLA) in calling for 24-hour prayer from today until March 20, when the Supreme Court will consider an important pro-life case.
NIFLA vs. Becerra is a case against a California law that forces pregnancy resource centers to refer clients for abortion. Thomas Glessner is the president of NIFLA and a board member of the NPRC.
“These pregnancy centers exist to save lives and provide alternatives to abortion, not to help people kill their children,” said Father Frank Pavone, National Director of Priests for Life and NPRC president. “This case defends these centers against forced speech and cooperation in the evil of abortion.”
A “Prayer for the Victory of Life and Freedom,” written by Father Pavone, can be found at www.SupremeCourtVictory.com.
NIFLA is asking churches and organizations to commit to one full day of prayer before March 20, and is asking all people of faith to pray daily for this special intention. You can find the prayer calendar here. Priests for Life has also signed onto an amicus brief in this case. We are alerting Churches and equipping pastors to preach on this issue, and are likewise working with NIFLA to mobilize supporters to join us for a rally in front of the Supreme Court on the day of the oral arguments, Tuesday, March 20.
