HR 361/S. 165 - Abortion Non-Discrimination Act (ANDA)
The Abortion Non-Discrimination Act was introduced in the House of
Representatives as H.R. 361 by Congressmen John Fleming (LA-4) and Dan Boren
(OK-2) on January 20, 2011. The identical bill was introduced in the Senate
as S. 165 by Senator David Vitter (LA) on January 25, 2011. Senators Dan
Coats (IN), Tom Coburn (OK), and Mike Enzi (WY) co-sponsor S. 165.
The legislation protects health care entities, both individuals and

assistance for refusing to perform, pay for, or refer for abortion. It also
bars any entity that receives federal funding from forcing a person or
institution to undergo or provide training in abortion procedures.
