Fr. Peter West gives presentation on Vatican Document on Bioethics - September 2009

Fr. Peter West travelled to Florida from September 19-22, 2009.  He gave a presentation on the recent Vatican Document on Bioethics entitled Dignitas Personae (On the Dignity of the Person) and Abortion in the Heath Care Bill at an Annual Pro-life Conference sponsored by the Knights of Columbus at St. Nicholas of Tolentine Byzantine Catholic Church in Orlando. Fr. Peter also concelebrated the Byzantine Catholic liturgy Saturday evening. The following day he preached at St. Andrew’s Church and encouraged people to contact their Congressmen, Senators and the President to ask that abortion be explicitly excluded from the Health Care Reform Bill.  He also warned that government bureaucracies should not be empowered to decide who will and will not receive health care. His message was well received.  In the afternoon, Fr. Peter relaxed with his family at Hollywood Studios in Disneyworld.  His brother and family just moved to the area in August.
