Recruiting Pro-life People
The top priority, in the practical order, for pro-life groups today needs to
be recruiting. There are many programs, projects, and ideas, but they all
require people to carry them out. Even prayer requires people to do the praying!
While most Americans oppose most abortions, many don't do anything about it.
Recruiting means taking people over the threshold from being "concerned" about
abortion to being actively involved in the effort to stop it.
To recruit, pro-life groups needs to
- Be sure to take the names, addresses, and phone numbers of people who come
to pro-life events;
- Follow up with such people and get them involved in activities;
- Provide them with pro-life training, and
- Make them feel wanted and needed.
When making plans for the coming year, let's make this a priority. Priests
for Life is actively working with pro-life groups to assist in this effort.
