'Priests for Life' to visit diocese
TOLEDO - Augustinian Father Walter Quinn of Priests for Life, a national
pro-life ministry which teaches about abortion, euthanasia and tries to
strengthen local pro-life advocacy efforts, will be visiting the Diocese of
Toledo the weekend of Nov. 30 through Dec. 2.
Fr. Quinn will make two presentations in the Toledo area.
He will speak on Friday, Nov. 30, at 7 p.m. at St. Ignatius Parish, located
at 212 North Stadium Road in Oregon.
Refreshments will be served following the presentation.
His keynote pro-life presentation will be held on Sunday, Dec. 2, at 7 p.m.
in the parish hall at St. Adalbert Parish, 3233 Lagrange St. in Toledo.
Active in parish work for 38 years, primarily in the Philadelphia area, Fr.
Quinn has also served in Nova Scotia at St. Augustine Monastery.
He has been actively involved in the pro-life movement since the late 1960s.
Motivating his ministry is his conviction that the main focus of the Gospel of
Life reaches people in and through the Church most powerfully at the parish
level.
According to Lucy Abu-Absi, executive director of Family Life/Respect Life
Ministries in the Diocese of Toledo, Fr. Quinn speaks "on abortion and
euthanasia to groups of clergy and laity throughout the nation encouraging all
to 'stand up and be counted' and be actively involved in this most important
crusade of our time: to serve, protect and defend life from the innocent unborn
to the oldest of the old among us."
In addition to his featured talks, he will attend the 8:15 a.m. Mass at St.
Adalbert Church on Saturday, Dec. 1. From there he will lead a "Rosary for Life"
at Toledo Medical Services, 3125 Douglas Rd.
Fr. Quinn will also be the homilist at the 4 p.m. Mass on Saturday, Dec. 1,
at St. Adalbert, as well as at the 8:30 and 11 a.m. Masses at St. Joseph Parish,
626 Locust St. in Toledo, on Sunday, Dec. 2.
