The statue reminds us that the Blessed Virgin Mary, as Mother of the Author
of Life, is also the spiritual mother of every new life that is conceived. She
therefore is a loving support to every mother, assisting her to recognize in her
child a reflection of God's love, and helping her to overcome every temptation
to reject that child.
